{"id":3770,"date":"2014-03-21T14:29:11","date_gmt":"2014-03-21T19:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cgayling.com\/malmaxa\/?p=3770"},"modified":"2014-03-21T14:29:11","modified_gmt":"2014-03-21T19:29:11","slug":"fears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cgayling.com\/malmaxa\/poetry\/fears\/","title":{"rendered":"Fears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>~ <strong>Fears<\/strong> ~<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>My greatest fear is injury,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> not an injury to me,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> but to others who I touch<\/em><br \/>\n<em> in deed, or word, it matters not<\/em><br \/>\n<em> nor whether the hurt is real,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> or simply the unheard song,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> of an unseen soul&#8217;s appeal,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> every injury, is real&#8230;<\/em><br \/>\n<em> even if it is only in a<\/em><br \/>\n<em> dream.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The things that make me beam<\/em><br \/>\n<em> the little things, of which I dream<\/em><br \/>\n<em> the unseen sound of souls that sigh,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> the clear essence of two souls that cry<\/em><br \/>\n<em> tears that start their path as joy<\/em><br \/>\n<em> wend their way through guilt<\/em><br \/>\n<em> and by path&#8217;s end, are never shed.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> True love lives on, it is never<\/em><br \/>\n<em> dead.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>No worry that we can&#8217;t walk back,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> can&#8217;t turn about,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> can&#8217;t find that track,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> our footprints fade,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> they must,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> dark dreams crumble into dust,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> face our fears, face the front<\/em><br \/>\n<em> walk toward a future bright<\/em><br \/>\n<em> walk together, in each others<\/em><br \/>\n<em> light.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Wonderful memories, illicit,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> delightful dreams, explicit,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> our memories may never fade<\/em><br \/>\n<em> though some cut deeper than any<\/em><br \/>\n<em> blade.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The path we walk this way,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> would that holding hands we may,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> as friends fingertips do touch,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> jogging the others memory to breathe,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> that their hearts beneath such love<\/em><br \/>\n<em> don&#8217;t crush,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> where we are today&#8230;<\/em><br \/>\n<em> is a far better place, than<\/em><br \/>\n<em> yesterday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Rather than dwell in errors past,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> let us form a friendship,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> that will<\/em><br \/>\n<em> last.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Eternity awaits, my dear,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> and yes, I will take you,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> there.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> ~<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I hope you enjoyed this poem.
