{"id":5122,"date":"2016-07-06T09:41:20","date_gmt":"2016-07-06T14:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cgayling.com\/malmaxa\/?p=5122"},"modified":"2016-07-06T09:41:20","modified_gmt":"2016-07-06T14:41:20","slug":"on-silence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cgayling.com\/malmaxa\/ponderings\/on-silence\/","title":{"rendered":"on Silence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Life is constant contradiction.\u00a0 We&#8217;re told we should &#8220;<em>Speak the truth and shame the devil<\/em>&#8220;, we&#8217;re also told to &#8220;<em>Bite our tongue<\/em>&#8220;.\u00a0 When we speak out against something that strikes us as questionable, we often incur the wrath of those who disagree.\u00a0 This makes us immediately regret the decision to talk instead of biting our tongue.\u00a0 Regret is painful, and since pain is a powerful teacher we quickly learn to choose silence even though our silence is a lie.<\/p>\n<p>I believe the choice of silence is a big mistake.
