{"id":5479,"date":"2017-07-23T13:46:55","date_gmt":"2017-07-23T18:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cgayling.com\/malmaxa\/?p=5479"},"modified":"2017-07-23T13:46:55","modified_gmt":"2017-07-23T18:46:55","slug":"memories-of-clean-water","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cgayling.com\/malmaxa\/general\/memories-of-clean-water\/","title":{"rendered":"Memories, of clean water"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I believe as a result of my <a href=\"https:\/\/cgayling.com\/malmaxa\/2017\/04\/lest-we-forget\/\">surgery<\/a>, I lost my appetite.\u00a0 My hunger for food is pretty much non-existent, while my appetite for liquids knows no bounds.\u00a0 Literally.<\/p>\n<p>The other day, while walking <a href=\"https:\/\/cgayling.com\/malmaxa\/2015\/03\/why-a-dog\/\">Bacon<\/a> after a rainstorm, I looked at the water flowing in the cement troughs down the side of the road.\u00a0 It looked so delicious it was actually tempting to kneel and drink it.\u00a0 Of course I didn&#8217;t.\u00a0 No, not of course, I don&#8217;t think there is really any &#8220;of course&#8221; about it.\u00a0 I managed to prevent myself from doing so.\u00a0 Yes, &#8220;managed&#8221; is a better choice of word.\u00a0 Perhaps seeing the rivulet reminded me of the tiny little streams in Rhodesia, particularly in the Eastern Highlands, from which I often drank as growing lad.\u00a0 Such delicious water, untouched by man, filled with minerals absorbed from the rocks over which it flows.\u00a0 The memory of the taste of crystal clear, clean water&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A memory of what I had, yet have no more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I believe as a result of my surgery, I lost my appetite.\u00a0 My hunger for food is pretty much non-existent, while my appetite for liquids knows no bounds.\u00a0 Literally.
